<- ATCC <- NRRL. Isolated from distillery yeast. Used for assay of amphotericin B (fungizone), anisomycin, antifongine, candicidin, nystatin (fungicidin), natamycin (pimaricin). Used for media testing, food testing, sterility testing, testing fungicides, susceptibility testing and testing disinfectants. Produces arginase, histone deacetylase, nicotinic acid (niacin) and ethyl alcohol (ethanol).
