The Regional Desalination and Environmental Center (RDEC) has been established in 2013 as a leading center in desalination matters in Iran in cooperation with six other universities encouraged by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology has been selected as a focal point of this center.
The goals of RDEC will be to encourage and utilization of the appropriate technologies and methodologies to augment, conserve and efficient utilization of water through water conservation and appropriate use of desalination technologies in water supply, wastewater treatment and reuse, and other water sciences and technologies. The protection of the environment, especially water resources and concentrate disposal, are among the principal goals of the Center.
The center includes three Research Groups as follows:
