By examining the current situation of Parsian Gas Refinery, the total amount of water consumption was calculated, to which an average of 6% is added every year. The purpose of treatment of existing industrial and non-industrial wastewaters, was agreed as irrigation and fire fighting waters and their standards were set. The average flow rates of oily wastewater, reverse osmosis reject stream and sanitary effluent were measured. To determine the organic contaminants and inorganic salts in the company's wastewater and their seasonal changes, they were sampled and analyzed 12 times in one year. For oily wastewater treatment, physical, chemical and biological methods were examined; including coagulation and sedimentation, adsorption, forward osmosis membrane process, advanced oxidation methods (persulfate radical and ozonation) and biological methods using a consortium of isolated bacterial strains from site and halophile strains. According to the obtained results, the wastewater treatment process was proposed as a combination of physical, chemical and biological methods and reverse osmosis was proposed for desalination. Based on the findings, it was predicted that with the proposed method, about 20% of the water consumption can be recovered from the total wastewater of the refinery and used as irrigation or fire-fighting water. Finally, investment costs and direct production costs were calculated.‎
