IROST Honors Outstanding Researchers, Technologists, Faculty, and Staff at Research Week
On Tuesday, December 8, 2025, the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) held an honoring ceremony for Research Week in its Khwarizmi Hall, attended by IROST’s president, members of the Governing Board, guests, faculty members, researchers, staff, and representatives of technology- and knowledge-based companies.
At the outset, Professor Alireza Ashori, President of IROST, highlighted the organization's position after 45 years of its inception in Iran’s innovation ecosystem. He noted that IROST now benefits from 120 faculty members, 140 doctoral students, and more than 170 technology- and knowledge-based companies operating within its ecosystem. He urged leveraging this latent capacity to play an effective role in national development.
Following this, Professor Soheila Shokrollahzadeh, Head of the Institute for Advanced Technologies at IROST, delivered a year-in-review of the institute’s achievements and emphasized the importance of advancing research infrastructure and joint technology projects to elevate the organization’s standing. In another segment, Professor Saeed Balalaei, the guest speaker, delivered a keynote titled “The Future of Chemistry Until 2030.” He examined global developments in chemistry and cutting-edge technologies, future-oriented trends, and their impact on Iran’s scientific and technological landscape.
Next, Dr. Seyed Hossein Mahmoudi Najafi, IROST’s Vice President for Administration and Human Resources, outlined support programs, the advancement of human capital, and actions taken to improve administrative and support processes at IROST. Subsequently, Dr. Yasmin Bideh, Secretary of the Research Week Organizing Committee, provided a report on the event’s execution, judging, selection criteria for awardees, and evaluation methods, and expressed gratitude to the many researchers and various departments for their participation.
After the speeches, the ceremony concluded with awards for outstanding laboratory technicians, specialists, faculty members, and staff, alongside top exhibition stands of Research Week at IROST.
