Iranian Research Organization for Science & Technology

Following a call issued by the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH) for participation in the international event Pakistan SEE 2026, the startup team Sepehr Space from the Science and Technology Park of the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) was officially nominated by IROST’s International Scientific Cooperation office to participate in the event. The team was represented by Dr. Mohammad Javad Torkaman Asadi, founder of Sepehr Space and a faculty member of IROST.

Pakistan SEE 2026, focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the development of the startup ecosystem, was held on August 22, 2026 in Lahore, Pakistan. The event was organized in cooperation with OIC-COMSTECH, with the participation of the University of Lahore, Superior University, University of Sialkot, Green International University, and the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP). The event was welcomed by a large number of technology and entrepreneurship stakeholders.

In this edition, more than 4,000 applications from 250 Pakistani universities and over 300 international applications from around 40 countries were received. Following the evaluation process, 100 leading startups were selected to present their ideas and projects. The event featured direct meetings with investors and mentors, a startup competition, training workshops, and mentoring programs.

During his visit, Dr. Torkaman Asadi also visited the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT), Air University and its Innovation Center, and the National Incubation Center Islamabad (NIC Islamabad). During meetings with the managers and officials of these centers, the scientific, research, and technological capacities of the institutions were reviewed, and potential areas for joint cooperation were explored.

Based on the discussions held, potential areas of cooperation included joint research in aerospace and space technologies, implementation of joint projects, exchange of researchers and students, exchange of startups and mentors, organization of joint programs and training courses, and cooperation in technology commercialization and technology transfer.

The visit provided an opportunity to introduce the scientific and technological capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while also facilitating greater familiarity with Pakistan’s technology and innovation ecosystem and establishing connections with universities, incubation centers, and other institutions active in this field. The visit is expected to contribute to the further development of scientific, technological, and innovation cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
