IROST Organizes Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, IROST organized a training workshop dedicated to intellectual property rights, titled "The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT): Opportunities for International Support."
The session aimed to raise awareness and deepen understanding of international mechanisms available for protecting inventions. It was attended by faculty members, judges, and officials involved in the evaluation of inventions and innovations.
Kicking off the workshop, Dr. Mohammad Abedi, Director General of the IROST’s Intellectual Property Office, warmly welcomed participants and shared valuable insights into the national system for evaluating inventions. He also elaborated on IROST’s pivotal role in the assessment and support of patent applications within the country.
The session continued with a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Badeh Noosh, Head of the International Patents Registration Department at the Judiciary. He provided detailed explanations about the legal principles behind patent registration, the key provisions of the PCT agreement, and the procedural steps involved in filing, evaluating, and reviewing PCT applications.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, offering participants the opportunity to clarify doubts and further explore the topic.
