IROST Faculty Member Delivers Keynote Address at 18th Solar Photovoltaic and Energy Storage World Expo 2026
Dr. Seyed Moslem Mousavi Dorcheh, faculty member and Head of the Department of New Technology Development Studies at the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST), delivered a keynote address at the 18th Solar Photovoltaic and Energy Storage World Expo 2026 in Guangzhou, China.
The international event, one of the major specialized gatherings in the field of clean energy, was held from 16 to 18 September 2026 in Guangzhou, bringing together representatives from 100 countries. More than 2,000 leading Chinese and international companies also participated in the exhibition, showcasing their latest technologies, products, and achievements in solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage, and related fields.
Dr. Mousavi participated as a keynote speaker at the opening ceremony, where he addressed major challenges and opportunities facing Iran's energy sector. Referring to the significant growth of renewable energy capacity in Iran in recent years, he identified the stabilization, effective management, and efficient integration of renewable energy into the national energy system as among the key challenges confronting energy experts and policymakers.
In his keynote address, Dr. Mousavi emphasized that the transition toward renewable energy requires efficient, reliable, and locally adapted energy-storage solutions. He highlighted energy storage as an increasingly important strategic requirement for strengthening Iran's energy security, particularly given the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
The event offered opportunities for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and exploring potential avenues for future joint research, technological cooperation, and industrial initiatives.
