Culture condition:
24 °C
Information:
<- ATCC <- Lederle Labs. <- N.C. Laffer 61, type C (Zygosaccharomyces lactis). Isolated from creamery, United States of America. Mates with ATCC 8651, haploid. Degrades whey permeate. Hydrolyzes whey lactose. Produces L-methionine. Produces beta-galactosidase. Produces killer toxin. Produces L-methionine from whey permeate. Carries two linear DNA plasmids, pGK11 and pGK12 and associated killer character. Resistant to killer toxin produced by Schwanniomyces occidentalis (ATCC 44252)
