<- NCIMB <- ATCC <- NRRL. isolated from slime on root beer. Produces dextran. Produces dextransucrase. Production of dextran for used as a plasma extender and substitute for mucin. Produces clinical dextran by mixed-culture fermentation with Lipomyces starkeyi ATCC 74054.
