<- CBS <- R. Emerson. Previous name: Mucor miehei. Isolated from retting guayule shrub (Parthenium argentatum), California, USA. Type strain. Thermophilic homothallic fungus. Sensitive to avermectin at 2 mcg/ml. Produces peptide antibiotic miehein. Produes chymosin chymosis, rennin.
