<- DSMZ <- T. Oshima, HB8 (formerly Flavobacterium thermophilum). Type strain, isolated from hot spring, Japan. Produces phosphoglucomutase, phosphofructokinase, fructose 1,6-diphosphatase, D-xylose isomerase, and restriction endonuclease TtHB8I. Heat stability of tRNA and ribosomes, respiratory proteins, iron sulfur protein; resistant to heavy metal ions.
