Chocolate agar with IsoVitalex solution

Mix autoclaved Columbia agar base with (5-8%) sheep blood, keep at 80°C for 10 minutes. Cool to 50°C. Aseptically add 10.0 ml IsoVitalex solution (see below) to 1000 ml of the medium. Mix well and pour into plates or tubes. IsoVitalex solution:

Guanine. HCl                                             0.03 g

Fe(NO3)3.6H2O                                        0.02 g

p-Aminobenzoic acid                               0.013 g

Thiamine.HCl                                           0.003 g

Rehydrate IsoVitalex Enrichment (BD 211876) according to package instructions
