The group faculty members are actively involved on: air, water biotreatments, soil bioremediation, biodesulfurization of coal and crude oil and industrial wastes treatment. Furthermore, degradation of chemical compounds, production of biocatalysts, bioplastics and biopolymers are investigated. Production of biocatalyst such as microbial enzymes for industrial applications is general experience of the faculties. Studies of extremophile environments have begun from Persian Gulf and are following in other locations of Iran.
